KPN telephone exchange Amsterdam
| 24-03-2023
The former KPN telephone exchange is situated on the corner of Middenweg and Kamerlingh Onneslaan in Amsterdam. This building is being renovated and transformed into several residential, commercial and restaurant locations.
An additional floor will be built on top of the existing building. This floor will mainly consist of aluminium curtain walls combined with natural stone cladding for the columns, and horizontal frames. A light granite stone will be used here. This will involve 530 m2 of cladding for the columns and façade and approximately 280 m1 of solid spandrels and piers.
In addition to the columns and façades, we will also supply and install window sills for the building. These will be made of Portuguese limestone and roughly 305 m1 of natural stone will be fitted in total.
We have currently started on the engineering work for the project. According to estimates, we will begin with the installation work in November and the project should be completed by the end of March 2024.
We’ll keep you up to date on this project with photos on our social media channels.
