Overhoeks Building D – Amsterdam

Last April, we received the assignment from Bouwbedrijf De Nijs to supply and install natural stone cladding for the Overhoeks D apartment complex in Amsterdam.

The scope of our work included: natural stone façade panels, window frames, string courses in the façade, capping bands on a garden wall, and an outdoor floor. After an intensive preparation phase to finalize designs and orders, we began production of the natural stone components at our factory in Portugal at the end of last year. Transport to the Netherlands started in January and February.

We began installation in mid-May. A major advantage was that all the materials were already in the Netherlands, allowing us to provide ‘just-in-time’ deliveries to the construction site.

The installed natural stone panels were adhered to a rough brickwork substrate. The Portuguese granite we used here creates a beautiful contrast with the light brick masonry.

We are now working on the final component (the outdoor floor) and aim to deliver the project in its entirety within a few weeks.
